RM MARCH 2018 ISSUE – VOL.69 NO.809
RAILWAY OF THE MONTH
This location, the highest main line station in England amidst the scenic wonders of the Yorkshire Dales, marks in model form the completion of phase two of Ian Nuttall's mammoth project to model the Settle & Carlisle in the 1930s in OO.
PLAN OF THE MONTH
This Essex station marks the junction between the former Great Eastern Railway main line - which runs north-east from London to Suffolk and Norfolk - and the branch to Sudbury. Ian Stock considers its potential for modelling, both in the present day and the 1960s.
G&SWR Class 5 0-6-0T
The Glasgow & South Western had a trio of these locomotives, designed by Peter Drummond and used for shunting, as John Treays relates.
Having already described one of his two small-space-4mm scale layouts which share a common fiddle yard and storage crate (Hudson Street, RM February 2016), Peter Fletcher presents the other, a Highland Railway shed scene inspired by Tain.
